Meet Tom Boatman
President & Managing Director
American native Tom Boatman is a die-hard NY Yankees fan and loves running, reading and ramen, but he screams for ice cream. Tom has 30 years of advertising experience, including five years in the New York Market and 25 years in Japan. He has developed ad campaigns and slogans for top Japanese companies including Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Toshiba, Canon, Mitsubishi Electric, NEC, FamilyMart, Kyocera, Komatsu, Renesas Technology, Ajinomoto, NTT and NYK Line. He co-authored a book on networking, Networking In Tokyo (Charles Tuttle, 1993) and has been published in Japan's English-language periodicals and newspapers. He is a qualified corporate trainer, focusing on professional presentation skills, a continuing education instructor at Temple University Japan, a skilled public speaker and the vice president of the Toastmasters International chapter at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan.
Meet Minako Sakagami
Director
Japanese native Minako Sakagami loves movies and has encyclopedic knowledge of film actors, producers and directors from all corners of the earth. When she’s not at the cinema, she likes to ski moguls in the winter, swim in the summer and cook exotic cuisine most anytime. She has more than 33 years of advertising and public relations experience in Japan. Seven of those were as an account executive for clients such as Nissan Motors at Standard Advertising in Tokyo, a Lowe Partners company. A graduate of Tokyo’s Sophia University, she began her career in public relations at Nikkei Business Publications. She is experienced in Japanese to English and English to Japanese project coordination. She has special expertise in developing direct marketing strategies for language learning and training programs and is proficient in developing blogging strategies for sales-lead generation.
